I’m a writer and teacher. My books include Chocolate Cake with Hitler and Hitler’s Last Day, Minute by Minute, co-written with Jonathan Mayo. You can hear me talking to Dan Snow about Hitler’s final day in the Berlin bunker here.

For six years, I was part of a small team which set up and ran the English with Creative Writing BA at Strode College, Somerset, which was accredited by Plymouth University. Now I teach creative writing to small groups of adults around my kitchen table, and work as a writing coach for individuals.

I have a doctorate from Exeter University. My next book, The Sound of the Sky, will be published by New River in 2027.

My Substack is about writing and teaching, and other things that occur.
